Franchise fatigue is part of the problem but the crux of the matter is that these franchises are missing qualified writers who know how to write a good and interesting story. The Marvel movies are largely written by nobodies within the industry who are directed to include "the message" of pandering to social media throngs. Disney Star Wars and Marvels shows are failing because the stories are absolutely boring. Mario came out of left field and knocked it out of the park because everyone loves Mario but they love the story too. Same with Barbie and Oppenheimer -here are two stories that were told extremely well. In light of these fresh takes on established IP, Marvels and Star Wars stands no chance. Especially Ahsoka, when your show requires me to watch a 20 year old cartoon for kids, I am not going to give it a chance. The audiences felt the same way and no one streamed that show and even fewer stuck with Samuel L. Jackson during his reprisal of Nick Fury - too little and too late in the story department = box office poison.
